An early challenge to come up with a design that adhered the theme Australian flowers. I went with one my my favorites - Billy Buttons (AKA Craspedia). I have always like these little guys dried and in a bouquet. Plus you can't go wrong with a nice POP! of yellow. I may revisit this image at some point to add a bit more complexity and/or movement and/or excitement. We'll see.
This was an early design, made while I was still figuring out the ins and outs of Procreate and working with layers. Wow, was I in over my head or what? This isn't just a repeating pattern. It's a full coverage repeating pattern. I had some trouble trying to cover every inch of the page and get the repeating pattern to work correctly. I'm still not entirely sure how I successfully pulled it off. (I have no idea what I'm doing by the way.) But, practice, practice, practice usually gets you there. The colors were meant to invoke slightly melancholy rainy days...you know the kind. PS I created this pattern for a design challenge that I did not win. In fact I placed at about the 47th percentile...which is almost middle of the pack...and not all that shabby for a total beginner. From L to R: Rainy Days Ahead repeat pattern, Pair and a spare baby leggings + topknot beanie, headband + harem leggings, quilted sensory square.
Items are currently available at the Keats Yeats Etsy shop. Fabric is available for purchase by the yard at Spoonflower. I was going for a minimalist birds eye view thing here. Floaty toys on water. You can almost smell the plastic and chlorine, right? Ah...summer. From L to R: Sensory Square in Floating (sold out), repeat pattern.
Similar items are available in the Keats Yeats Etsy shop. Fabric is available at Spoonflower. Summertime! It's hot. You want something cold on a stick. Well, here! Take it before my fingers get sticky. Available as fabric or maybe even wallpaper right here! And if you're looking for that same vibe, but a bit more phallic, try this on for size (but not literally. That is a totally different kind of website). I like the colors and general idea, but may need to revise the shape of these things. Sometimes, you just don't quite see what's what until you are done. Boo. Fabric available for purchase.
